Dr B R Ambedkar Hall, AMU Organises Orientation and Felicitation Programme
Aligarh : Dr B R Ambedkar Hall, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted residents and a felicitation ceremony for the residents who qualified the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services (Judicial) 2023 examination.
Delivering the welcome address, Prof Hashmat Ali Khan stressed upon the holistic development of the residents with all the resources provided by the Hall. He urged the newcomers to focus on their set goals. He also congratulated the successful candidates of the UP PCS (J) examination and appreciated their hard work and dedication.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Mr Rishi Kumar, Additional District Judge (Aligarh) motivated the young students with his words of wisdom. He called on the students to explore various fields of law, not restricting oneself to only one field. He congratulated the young selected judiciary candidates and also shared his experiences.
Mr Kaif Hasan, Joint Senior Hall, thanked all the guests and the UP PCS (J) qualifying members for their valuable presence. He urged the newcomers to abide by a set of unwritten rules or conduct that are called traditions of AMU, which are the soul of an Alig. He also discussed the Aligarh Movement and Sir Syed’s invaluable contribution to the community.
Guest of Honour, Prof Syed Ali Nawaz Zaidi, Deputy Proctor, AMU urged upon the students to refrain from activities regarded as illegal from the perspective of AMU Students’ Code of Conduct. He exhorted the students to adopt healthy and constructive habits.
The felicitated candidates- Mr Azam Rehmani and Mr Asim Chaudhary shared their experiences and insights with the audience. Mr Asim Chaudhary took them into the voyage of his life at AMU including his political career, academic career, failures with some ups and downs. Mr Azam Rehmani stressed upon continuity and persistence in study. He also shared anecdotes from his hostel life and gave his insights to new residents.
Mr Sarim Minhaj extended a vote of thanks and Mr Sarim Kaunain conducted the programme, which was attended by distinguished guests, faculty members, wardens, seniors and students of the hall.
