Dr. Kiran Bedi shares success mantras with students during District Interact Leadership Assembly organized at Amity University
New Delhi: Rotary International District 3012 organized the District Interact Leadership Assembly (DILA) 2021 on the theme “DISHA – THE PATH TO SUCCESS” at Amity University today. Rotarians are consistently engaged in developing future generations to take up leadership roles in the society through the New Generations Avenue of Service. To celebrate the youth’s potential & provide maximum leverage, this year, for the first time after the pandemic, Rotary International District 3012 organized an ‘interact session ‘and a motivational talk by Her Excellency Dr. Kiran Bedi (IPS retd), former LG Puducherry for the children from the age group of 12 to 18 years. 500 students from different schools including DAV Ashok Vihar, GD Goenka, MRV School, Heritage, Pathways School Noida, DPS Noida, Modern School Sector 11, Mayur School, JP International School, Lotus Valley International, Silver Line etc participated in the interactive session. Ms. Suhani Vats from Gurukul, The School Ghaziabad was conferred upon the honor of installation of DIR 2021-22 and her team. Gurukul, The School Ghaziabad was conferred upon the best interact club of quarter amongst 27 schools.
Delivering the key note address Dr. Bedi shared three success mantras with the students: Firstly use every day cautiously and to the optimum, as if it is the last day, so that one can give his or her best to everything. Secondly, follow the laws of nature, citing the example of seed which grows into a tree with water, air, sunlight, similarly, advised students to nurture right habits and take care of physical fitness to grow. Thirdly, she advised students to read more books and develop their skills to be successful in life.
Chief Guest on the occasion, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University congratulated Rotarians on organizing such an “Interact Club” which has provided an opportunity to students to interact, listen and meet successful people. Inspiring students with words of wisdom, Dr. Chauhan advised students to care of society, to live for others and utilize every opportunity they get in order to become successful. ‘Times have changed, leaders of all country now foresee India as the future of the world, therefore our youth have to work hard and work smart and develop oneself in order to be successful’. He advised students to be in the company of good friends who can help them grow and respect parents who have sacrificed their own happiness to fulfill the dreams of their children.
Rtn. Ashok Aggarwal, District Governor, Rotary International District 3012 brief the audience on the activities of Rotarians and said, ‘Today there are nearly 15000 Interact Clubs globally, over 3.5 lakh members in roughly 145 countries across the globe. Children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. To expand the horizon of children and go beyond the school text books and curriculum; Rotary International works towards inculcating leadership skills in the formative years of a child’s growth. Teenagers of today are well connected and informed. Rotary helps in building positive change in attitude and developing an empathetic behavior apart from developing insight, integrity and living an inspired life, which they feel are some of the key elements for a successful leader”.
Rtn. Ajay Chauhan DILA Chair said rotary takes pride in developing future generations. ‘Everyone has good expertise but success comes to those who follow the right DISHA in life. Rotary wants to provide youngsters a platform where students can achieve their dream’ remarked Mr Chauhan.
