DRDO Chairman Dr G Satish Reddy and Prof. Narayana Rao meets

Amravati: SRM University-AP Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof  D Narayana Rao met DRDVO Chairman Dr G Satish Reddy in New Delhi on Friday. The two discussed various research projects being carried out by university professors. On this occasion, Prof. Narayana Rao requested DRDO to co-operate in setting up two specialized research centres at SRM University-AP in the respective fields for the advancement of research on additive manufacturing (3D technology) and materials genome. He told Chairman Satish Reddy that the Additive Manufacturing Research Center would be instrumental in developing the laser melting technique in the manufacture of 3D printing components. He also asked the DRDO Chairman to approve the setting up of a specialized research centre at SRMAP, explaining that Materials Genome technology can be used to rapidly design, develop and innovate new functional materials innovations as compared to the traditional method. University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Narayana Rao said that Chairman Dr Satish Reddy had agreed in principle to set up research centres for the two projects.
