Dream A Dream presents A Panel Discussion with Dr. Connie K Chung, Author of ‘When We Thrive, Our World Thrives’

Bengaluru : Dream A Dream, a non profit organization working towards transforming education for children living in poverty, presents a fireside chat and panel discussion with Dr. Connie K Chung, author of ‘When We Thrive, Our World Thrives’. The book, co-authored with Vishal Talreja, Co-founder of Dream a Dream, delves into the inspiring stories of 20 programme alumni of Dream A Dream and their journey from adversity to thriving.

 

The Panel Discussion will be held at the Bangalore Literature Festival on December 2nd at 4 pm at Lalit Ashok.

 

Dr. Connie K Chung’s book captures the stories of 20 program alumni from Dream a Dream, showcasing their journey from adversity to thriving. Through the lens of stories and research, the book illustrates that young people are not defined by their adversity and with the right support they can thrive. It is an attempt to create a mindset shift among young people and the ecosystem and really understand what young people need in order to thrive. The book takes a long-term view of the efforts by educators and social workers in providing care and support to young people facing adversity. Additionally, it chronicles Dream a Dream’s growth as an organization and its role as a thought leader in the education ecosystem.

 

Commenting on the event, Dr. Connie K Chung, said, “Through this book, my aim was to amplify the voices of those who have overcome challenges and to highlight the commendable efforts of Dream a Dream in bringing in positive change in the lives of these young people. The book not only shares stories of change but also underscores how proper support from caring adults can help young minds thrive and lead their communities I am looking forward to sharing more of these stories at the panel discussion”

 

Vishal Talreja, Co-author and Co-founder of Dream a Dream adds , “These stories show us what is possible for children growing up in adverse environments and give us a glimpse of a society we can become with tenets of love, care, respect, dignity, and trust.”
