DSE Professor lectures students at ISBF on how economics can help in fight against climate change

New Delhi:Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), New Delhi, a leading institute in Economics, Management and Finance in India, hosted the second public lecture of academic session 2020-21 under its noteworthy Distinguished Public Lecture Series. The lecture was delivered by the distinguished economist from Delhi School of Economics, Dr. Shreekant Gupta on the topic ‘The Challenge of Climate Change: Can Economics Help?’.

Dr. Shreekant Gupta is Professor at Delhi School of Economics and has been a Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy where he established and headed the Environmental Policy Cell. He has also worked as an Environmental Economist at the World Bank has served the Government of India as a cadre of Indian Economic Services.

The public lecture, delivered virtually owing to the pandemic, witnessed over 50 students participating students who actively interacted with the speaker. The enlightening lecture was followed by an intense question-answer session.

 

With over 20plus years of experience in the field, Dr. Gupta is a renowned name in environmental economics. During his session, he offered an insight into the aspects concerning Environmental Economics and how from theory to practice is the emphatic path which should encourage the students. He emphasized on the fact that in current uncertain times, the purview towards Environmental Economics is the path towards the future.
