DSEJ organises Mega PTM on Parents’ Orientation and Drug abuse

 

JAMMU : Directorate of School Education, Jammu, organized a Mega Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) in all the Government Schools across ten districts of the Jammu division on the theme ‘Parent’s Orientation and Drug Abuse.’

The event was coordinated by the Counselling Cell DSEJ through District Counselling coordinators, District counsellors, Zonal counselling coordinators, faculty counsellors and other officials.

The key points highlighted and discussed with the parents during the meet were parenting during Adolescence, Gender Sensitization, Prevention of Drugs, Rapport building along with other routine issues related to student’s welfare.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director of School Education Jammu appreciated the efforts of the teaching community and opined that the parents play a pivotal role in the development of harmonious personality of the child and their involvement in the teaching learning process is essential for bringing fruitful results.

Joint Action Plan on Drugs De-addiction including TOFEI (Tobacco Free Educational Institutions) Guidelines are being implemented in the Schools by involving all the stakeholders including parents, said Dr. Romesh Kumar I/C Counselling Cell DSEJ

Pertinent to mention here that PTM has become a regular feature in Government Schools of Jammu Division and the parents are actively participating in them and discussing the various issues related to their child.
