DSEO Doda organises 1 day training on Registration of Births & Deaths through CRS portal
DODA: District Registrar (Chief Medical Officer Doda) & Additional District Registrar (District Statistics & EVS Officer Doda), in collaboration with District Administration Doda, Directorate of Census Operation J&K and Directorate Economics & Statistics J&K on Thursday organised One Day Training Programme on ‘Registration of Births & Deaths through Civil Registration System (CRS) Portal.
In his inaugural address, District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, highlighted the importance of the programme with regard to the role of newly notified Registrars.
He further elucidated that besides issuing the death and birth certificate at door steps of people through the Civil Registration System ‘We may also keep a continuous and complete record of Births & Deaths of our people which is vital for various government policies.’
Speaking on the occasion, Manmeet Singh, AD Census Operation Directorate, J&K, highlighted the need for implementation of Civil Registration System- Registration of Birth & Death Rules- 2022 in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
During the training programme, Himanshu (SIG 2 Directorate of Census Operation) gave a detailed presentation on the implementation of the Civil Registration System (Registration of Birth & Death Rules, 2022), duties and responsibilities of registration functionaries.
A detailed future roadmap for shifting to online registration through Web Portal of ORGI for Registration of Births and Deaths and action required to be taken by the line departments for implementation of the Civil Registration System was also talked about through the presentation.
Similarly, AD Census Operation Manmeet Singh, J&K highlighted the use and purpose of Birth and Death Certificates along with the importance of recording the occurrence and the characteristics of the vital events which is subsequently used to study the demographic profile and other features. He also highlighted the role of local registrars and areas falling within their jurisdiction for issuance of Birth and Death Certificates followed by imparting training to the Master trainers/ participants for switching over to the online Registration of Births and Deaths through CRS Portal.
Among others, the training programme was attended by CMO, CPO, All BDOs of the District, BMOs and Data entry operators of Health and Medical Department.
