Durham University: Record breaking success for Palatinate in National Student Awards

Palatinate has enjoyed great success in two sets of national awards over the Easter holiday period. The team secured a record-breaking 24 nominations for the Student Publication Awards 2022 and went on to win in seven categories, including: Best Website, Best Sports Section and Best Reporter.

TV branch also recognised
The talent of the students involved in Palatinate’s TV branch, PalTV was also recognised. Just a year after its launch, PalTV was named Broadcaster of the Year by the National Student Television Association at its awards ceremony in York.

Both awards nights were a chance to bring together student journalists from the length and breadth of the country, and the team appreciated the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, swap ideas and celebrate each other’s achievements.

Proud Editors-in-Chief
Poppy Askham and Joe Rossiter, the current Editors-in-Chief, are hugely proud of both teams. “It’s wonderful to see our students’ hard work recognised in this way and we feel incredibly grateful to have such a talented team. Palatinate continues to live up to a long tradition of producing some of the country’s finest young journalists.”
