DYS&S Gbl conducts Cleanliness/ Awareness drive at Kichpora under ‘Clean India Programme’

GANDERBAL : Continuing the activities under ‘Clean India programme’, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S) Ganderbal in collaboration with Zonal Physical Education Officer, Kangan today organized cleanliness and awareness programme at Zonal Level Play Field at Kijpora Kangan.

All the field staff along with office staff of Zone Kangan and sports loving students participated in the programme.

Around 13 kg of polythene/ plastic and other waste material was collected for the safe disposal.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sheikh Shafkat lqbal and Zonal Physical Education Officer Kangan, Mohmmad Shafi along with departmental officials and Sports loving students raised awareness through the main road and local areas of Kijpora about the cleanliness of the environment and made people aware about the ill effects of polythene on flora and fauna of the planet.

They urged them to avoid use and littering of non-biodegradable waste into water bodies and also asked them to become part of ‘Clean India Program’ which shall continue till 30th October, 202
