ALIGARH: The E-Mag and Literary Committee, Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Picture Exhibition and Seminar on “Celebrating Management Thought and Literature” on Dec 19.
Prof. Kaleem M. Khan (a retired faculty member) inaugurated the picture gallery that showcased major works of pioneers and thinkers in the field of management and displayed the archive and the brief history of the evolution of management education.
The gallery also consisted of posters highlighting classical theories and frameworks of management, tools and techniques, along with the classic and modern day management literature.
Addressing the seminar, Prof. Salma Ahmed (Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research) welcomed the judges and the participating students and research scholars, who made presentations in the seminar. She also emphasized the need to organize scholarly seminars and highlighted the key features of the programme.
Prof. Sheeba Hamid (Department of Commerce) and Prof. Roomana Siddiqui (Department of Psychology) judged the presentations.
Ayesha Shamsi won the first prize while Yashaswi Singh got the second place and the third prize was shared by Arma Bano and Tuba Fatima.
Prof. Feza Tabassum Azmi elaborated on the evolution of management practices mentioning that the formal discipline and practice of management started after industrial revolution and more specifically after the dawn of 20th century. She stressed the need to rekindle reading habits in students.
Yashaswi Singh conducted the programme and Bharat Keshwani extended the vote of thanks.
