OSC, DLSA sensitise girl students about Women empowerment Laws, schemes

 

RAJOURI : To educate the public and especially Students about healthy diet, an Eat Right awareness programme was today held here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rajouri.

Assistant Commissioner Food safety, Ajeet Singh advised the participants to adopt and disseminate the message of using fortified food and limit consumption of high fat, sugar and salt foods.

He also appealed to the students to inform the food safety officials if they feel unsure about the safety of packaged food or any food items. He said this will help to deal with the problems of food adulteration successfully.

Meanwhile, One Stop Centre in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Rajouri sensitized the students about the women empowerment laws and schemes.

Detailed discussion on bringing behavioural change and inculcating healthy food habits was also held during the event.

The speakers made the participants aware about the legal rights of women and entitlements under various women-related laws.

Outlining the legal awareness initiatives of the DLSA, the speakers maintained that Women should acquaint themselves with their legal rights, provisions of various women-related laws and avail free legal services being provided by the legal services institutions to the needy.

They also apprised the participants about the OSC and its mechanism for redressal of issues of the women. They apprised that OSC is an initiative of the Government to address the issue of domestic violence against women under a single roof.

The participants were also urged to replicate the awareness acquired in their respective areas so that the women affected with different kinds of violence get to know about the One-Stop Centre for redressal of their issues.
