Educational works of Std. 10, 12, final-year of Graduation, post-Graduation will commence from Jan. 11 – says Gujarat Education Minister

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama today said that the educational work of Std. 10, Std. 12, and the academic works of the final-year of Graduation – Post-Graduation will commence from the forthcoming January 11, 2021.

This decision was taken by the state government after discussing the issue in a State Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel in Gandhinagar, today.

Giving further details on the issue, the Education Minister stated that this decision will be applicable to all the boards of the state. This will be applicable to government schools, grant-in-aid-independent organizations and institutions under the Department of Social Justice Empowerment. To prevent the transmission of the ‘Covid-19’, the schools and colleges will have to strictly follow the SOP announced by the central government. All the instructions in this regards have been sent to all the institutions by the education department, Mr. Chudasama added.

The Minister further added that in order to make other arrangements for the prevention of the transmission of Corona virus, including hygiene in the school, the principals will have to arrange thermal guns and others in the school in coordination with the officers. To make proper planning for this at the local level, the principals and teachers will have to coordinate with the primary health center and the community health center.

Mr. Chudasama said that the attendance in the school will not be mandatory. Each student attending the schools will have to submit his/her approval in the prescribed form with the consent of his/her parents. Necessary forms for this have been sent to the school he said and added that the current online-education system in the state would continue as per the norms.

The Education Minister further clarified that the students will not be given mass promotions. The examinations will be conducted for only the taught portion of the education syllabus.

The State Government is making deliberations about when to start education works for other standards. A decision on this will be taken soon, Mr. Chudasama added.
