Effective Delivery of Learning Contents of Alternative Learning System (ALS)

Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines – One hundred Alternative Learning System (ALS) implementers from the Schools Divisions of Tacloban City and Leyte in Region VIII-Eastern Visayas, Philippines,  have completed a series of ALS learning contents training from 7 June to 15 October 2021. They also received a training session on the Design Thinking process on 22 October 2021 to cap these capacity-building activities.

The ALS implementers consist of the ALS district coordinators, mobile teachers and education programme specialists in the target location of the project. The training conducted in partnership with Ateneo de Davao University-Academy of Lifelong Learning,  coached the ALS implementers to use the newly developed ALS modules and deliver these new learning resources to ALS learners.

This capacity-building activity is part of UNESCO’s project “Better Life for Out-of-School Girls to Fight Poverty and Injustice in the Philippines” implementation in collaboration with the Department of Education and funding support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The project aims to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 specifically for out-of-school girls in realising their right to education and access to inclusive, equitable, and quality learning.
