Artists welcome setting up of cultural workshop at DIC
RAMBAN : Reiterating that Ramban district has a great potential in all aspects of folk art representing different local languages and dialects, the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam today said that the district administration is focusing on channelization of the potential of youth in the right direction.
The Deputy Commissioner was speaking at a function organized to express gratitude to District Administration and Project Director, Patel Engineering Ltd, Rampal Khajuria, by the local artists, for providing the latest modern electronic musical instruments.
The Musical instruments worth Rs. 10 lakh have been provided under CSR by the Patel Engineering Ltd, a Company engaged in USBRL project to facilitate the local youth through District Information Centre. The musical instruments have been provided as a first consignment of the proposal formulated by the District Administration under CSR to encourage local budding artists.
Welcoming the contribution of Patel Engineering Ltd, the Deputy Commissioner said that this good-will gesture would go a long way in promoting local folk culture, besides providing a platform to the young and budding artists of the district to showcase their talent at local as well as national levels.
Referring to the cultural unit set up in DIPR Ramban, the Deputy Commissioner said that more requisite articles and equipments will be provided to the DIPR Ramban for developing a cultural taste among the enthusiastic youth of the district.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal, Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand, District Youth Services & Sports, Dharamvir Singh and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
