Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations at AMU Malappuram and Kishanganj Centres

 

Aligarh : The Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) Malappuram and Kishanganj Centres celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi with grand events, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

At Malappuram, the Seerat Committee organized its 8th annual celebration. The event commenced with a welcome address from Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Malik, Coordinator of the Department of Law. He highlighted the tradition of Milad-un-Nabi celebrations at AMU, dating back to its founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

Dr. Faisal KP, Director of AMUMC, in his inaugural address, cited Michael H. Hart’s book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in Historywhere Prophet Muhammad is ranked as the most influential person. The event’s chief guest, Padma Shri Prof. Emeritus Akhtarul Wasey, spoke on the Prophet’s timeless teachings of justice, compassion, and gender equality.

Six competitions were held as part of the celebrations, including Naat and speech contests in Urdu, English, and Malayalam. Winners , including Saeed Masroor for Urdu Naat and Mohd. Abuzar for English Speech, were recognized for their performances. The event concluded with a Dua and Salaam, reaffirming AMU’s commitment to interfaith harmony.

Meanwhile, at Kishanganj, the Department of Business Administration hosted a spiritual gathering on 16th September. The event opened speeches on Seerat-un-Nabi, emphasizing Prophet Muhammad’s messages of universal brotherhood, justice, and compassion.

Mufti Qari Ayaz Ahmad, Imam of Jama Masjid Qadam Rasool, Bihar, delivered address, underscoring the enduring values of humanity taught by the Prophet. The event featured soulful Naat recitations by students, including Alisha Siddiqui, and a group Naat performance by first-year students.

Both centres concluded their events with prayers for peace and well-being, fostering a spirit of unity, spirituality, and reflection.
