Elite footballers and Coventry University students team up on day 1 of pre-season

Coventry University students had unique, close access to a squad of elite, professional footballers on day 1 of pre-season, as they helped the Birmingham City first team squad kick off preparations for the new EFL Championship campaign.

Students and staff at the university welcomed the likes of Troy Deeney, Lukas Jutkiewicz and many more senior pros to campus as they carried out several physical tests to assess players’ fitness as BCFC’s pre-season campaign commenced.

The day of tests formed a key facet to the opening stages of Birmingham City FC’s preparations for the new season, as well as providing crucial real-world experience to Coventry University students looking to build careers within sports and exercise science.
