Empowering Geology Students “Shahid Farooq Scholarship” awarded

Aligarh : Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a function for “Shahid Farooq Scholarship” award letter for the academic session 2022-23.

Professor Kr. Farahim Khan, the Chairperson of the Department of Geology, talked about the illustrious career of the late Prof. Shahid Farooq who has left an indelible mark on the field of geology.

Retired Professor Syeda Nuzhat Zeba, wife of the late Prof. Shahid Farooq, bestowed the scholarship award upon Ms. Hadiyah, an M.Sc. (Applied Geology) student. Reflecting on Prof. Shahid Farooq’s passion for geology and his innovative approach to advanced tools and techniques, Prof. Zeba emphasized his concern for the department and its students.

The function was attended by faculty members and students from the M.Sc. (Applied Geology) program.The “Shahid Farooq Scholarship” stands not just as a financial aid program but also a guide for aspiring geologists toward excellence.
