Enhanced COVID-19 control measures at HKU campus

Starting from 17 January 2022 (Monday), the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will introduce enhanced COVID-19 measures on campus. From this date, anyone wishing to enter the HKU campus will need either to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for at least 14 days or to take weekly COVID-19 self-tests.

The enhanced measures will be implemented in all HKU premises, including the Main Campus, the Medical Campus, Prince Philip Dental Hospital, Kennedy Town Centre, all sports facilities etc., as well as all HKU SPACE premises throughout Hong Kong.

HKU students and staff can first register their COVID-19 status through the HKU Portal or the HKU App, and then gain entry to the campus by tapping their HKU ID cards on one of the readers at the campus entrances. For people who choose to take self-test, they will need to update their self-test record on a weekly basis before tapping their HKU ID cards to gain entry to the campus.

Non-registered visitors can either show their vaccination QR code for scanning on one of the readers at the entrances, or produce a hard or soft copy of their vaccination or self-test record to show they comply with HKU’s enhanced COVID-19 control measures. Exemptions will be given to children under the age of 12.
