Enhancing Capacity of Alternative Learning System (ALS) Teachers through Lifeskills Training

Along with this admonition, UNESCO Jakarta conducted a series of online lifeskills training to Alternative Learning System (ALS) implementers of the Schools Divisions of Tacloban City and Leyte in Region VIII-Eastern Visayas held from 18 to 21 October 2021.

ALS implementers consist of district coordinators, mobile teachers and education programme specialists who received the lifeskills training on (a) Preparing for Future Career; (b) Time Management; (c) Starting a Business; and (d) Basic Computer and ICT Skills and Knowledge.

This capacity-building activity is carried out in partnership with the Department of Education Regional Office VIII and the Ateneo de Davao University-Academy of Lifelong Learning with funding support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) under UNESCO’s “Better Life for Out-of-School Girls to Fight Against Poverty and Injustice in the Philippines” Project.

The project aims to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 specifically for out-of-school girls in realising their right to education and access to inclusive, equitable, and quality learning.
