Ensemble “Toive” at the festival of national cultures “Multicolor of Russia”

The ensemble of folk music of Petrozavodsk State University “Toive” performed in Moscow at the annual interregional festival of national cultures “Multicolor of Russia”.
For two days, the Moscow House of Nationalities received guests from Petrozavodsk and St. Petersburg. Within the framework of the festival, the members of the ensemble “Toive” held master classes in Karelian dances, performed at a round table, at the opening of exhibitions. The festival ended with a big concert of the Toive ensemble with the participation of Moscow artists.

The artists shared their impressions of the trip.

Alexandra Krasnova, student of the Institute of Foreign Languages:

I was very glad and happy to represent my native land at the venues of Moscow. Every time I am overwhelmed with emotions when I go on stage with my favorite ensemble outside Petrozavodsk. It’s nice to see the smiles of the audience who first touched the Karelian culture at our concert.

Ekaterina Shestakova, student of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences:

Two days of the festival passed quickly. As one moment! But it was a moment filled with a whole sea of emotions. We are glad that we had such a wonderful opportunity to share our creativity with the residents of the capital. A genuine curiosity was read in the eyes of the audience, and for us this is the most important thing – to interest the viewer, to immerse him in the special atmosphere of the culture of our region.

Marina Nozhenko, member of the group:

These were two wonderful festival days when we had the opportunity to speak out and introduce people to the colorful Finno-Ugric culture. And even teach our dances! It was nice to see a lively response to the ensemble’s creativity from the audience. Thanks to them for the sincere words of admiration, to the organizers for the warm welcome, to Moscow for the warm weather and green parks.
