Ensure complete medical examination of people entering the State: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister
Shimla: While holding video conferencing meeting with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers from Shimla today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur directed the officers to ensure complete medical examination of people entering the State at the borders itself and only thereafter they should be allowed to go to their respective destinations for home quarantine.
Chief Minister said that it must be made mandatory for the people entering the State to download Arogya Setu app. He said that the mechanism of issuing passes by the concerned Deputy Commissioners should be staggered so as to avoid overcrowding in the entry points of the State. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of the country has specially emphasised the need for social distancing. He said that Prime Minister has also stressed on making best possible efforts to ensure that coronavirus does not enter the green zone. He said that separate strategies should be prepared for red zones and orange zones so that these zones could be converted into green zone at the earliest.
Jai Ram Thakur said that efforts should be made to start economic activities particularly in the green zones. He said that special thrust must be laid on providing smooth movement of essential commodities and farming equipments. He said that people should also be motivated to wear face masks and face covers as this could check spread of coronavirus.
Chief Minister said that since selective shops were allowed to open in certain areas, but it must be ensured that effective social distancing is maintained there and everyone uses face masks and sanitizer.
Chief Secretary Anil Khachi said that people arriving from other States must be allowed to go for home quarantine after recording down their complete travel and contact history.
Director General of Police S.R. Mardi said that people should be discouraged to enter false data in Arogya Setu app.
Additional Chief Secretaries Manoj Kumar and R.D. Dhiman, Principal Secretaries J.C. Sharma, Onkar Sharma and Sanjay Kundu, Secretary Rajneesh and Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Singh were also present in the meeting.
