Ensure participation of other departments, social organizations and community in Kill Corona Campaign

Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed District Collectors to ensure participation of other departments in Kill Corona Campaign underway in all districts of the state. The Chief Minister gave this instruction while reviewing the situation of corona control in the state through video conference. The Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Dr. Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and DGP Shri Vivek Johri were present on the occasion.

‘Kill Corona’-Update

As many as 10 thousand 664 survey teams are working under the Kill Corona Campaign started from July 01 in the state.

Under the campaign, survey of 24 lakh 60 thousand has already been conducted so far. Total One crore 23 lakh population has been covered under this survey.

Under the survey, 11 thousand 87 suspected patients with corona symptoms have been found and check up is being done. Patients with symptoms of other diseases have also been found. Treatment is also being given to them.

The recovery rate of state is 77.3 percent. Madhya Pradesh ranks at second place among the states with excellent recovery rate.

The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that despite the success in curbing the pace of infection of Corona in Madhya Pradesh, there should be no lack in efforts. The Health Department as well as Woman and Child Development Department have an active role in the state level Kill Corona Campaign starting from July 01. But at the same time it is also a people’s campaign. Participation of other government departments, social organizations and community should be ensured in this campaign. District Collectors are required to make necessary efforts in this direction. The campaign should be speeded up in consultation of the Crisis Management Groups at district level. He further mentioned that the situation of increase in recovery rate and decline in growth rate should not be a matter of satisfaction. Efforts have to be made to totally control the virus. Every citizen should remain healthy. If positive cases are found at any place, the tracing of the first contact should be ensured with full efficiency. The Minister for Health Dr. Narottam Mishra said to increase efforts in view of the virus situation in Gwalior and Chambal region. Separate review of Bhind and Gwalior district was conducted in the meeting.

While reviewing the Bhind district, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought detailed information from Officers In-Charge Shri Nishant Varbade and Shri Sanjay Goyal. The Officers informed that the number of positive cases has increased in Bhind because of people came from Itawa and Agra of Uttar Pradesh. Full attention is given to the treatment of suspected patients. As per the requirement, arrangement of quarantine has been made in various hostels. At present 67 patients are in district hospital. There are total 57 containment areas in the district. A total of 8 fever clinics are functioning. Treatment is being given to 190 patients at Covid Care Centre. Contact tracing work is underway, good work is being carried out under the Kill Corona campaign. A meeting of Crisis Management Group has already been held. Keeping in view the crowd at religious places, necessary arrangements are being made after discussing with the religious heads so that people visit the religious places for limited time and in limited numbers. Citizens are being advised constantly to use masks and gamchhas.

During the review of Gwalior district, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in case of positive cases found in large number, we have not to remain silent. Administration should make best efforts. Full care should be taken to curb spread of virus anywhere. The Collector Gwalior said that people have been advised not to move out of the house without any necessary work. Continuous checking and health check-up of people entering from the border are also being done. Surveys are being conducted in slum areas. Apart from this, attention is also being paid on tracing of first contact. At present, the recovery rate of Gwalior is more than 66 percent. The testing facility in Gwalior is 13 thousand 656 per million, the highest in state. District has total 27 containment areas and 30 fever clinics are functional in the district. Only 24 percent of the available bed capacity is being utilised. Use of Sarthak App in the district has helped in controlling corona to a great extent. Moreover, in Gwalior, arrangements have also been made to keep markets closed totally on Saturdays and Sundays and to close the markets and malls etc. after 2:00 p.m. on other days.

During the review of Gwalior, Bhind and Morena, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that keeping in view the overcrowding in the markets of Gwalior-Chambal region, the market hours should be curtailed as per the advice, received at the meeting of the Crisis Management Group and wherever necessary markets should be closed for a full day. As per the requirement, isolation centers should be increased in Bhind and checking of people entering from border should also be done.
