Essay competition held to mark Gandhi Jayanti

 

ALIGARH  : Naitik Upadhyay (STS School) won the first prize in the essay-writing competition, organized by the STS School, Aligarh Muslim University, on “Significance of Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts in the present scenario”, as part of the ongoing Gandhi Jayanti celebrations in the university.

Lipi Lavanya Bhardwaj (AMU Girls’ School) and Shivani Yadav (ABK High School-Girls) got the second prize, while Manya Gupta (STS School) and Mohammad Suhail (Ahmadi School) shared the third prize.

Congratulating the winners and appreciating the efforts of other participants, the School Principal, Mr. Faisal Nafees remembered Mahatma Gandhi as a crusader against all kinds of injustice and exploitation.

He urged the students to follow the path of truth and non-violence shown by Gandhi ji.

Former teachers of STS School, Mrs. Shadab Sabir and Mrs. Rukhsana Azim judged the competition.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Jyoti Kusumbal.
