ETU “LETI”: Students Triumphed in Electrical Engineering Olympiad
From December 6 to 9, the annual Dolivo-Dobrovolsky International Student Olympiad in Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering took place among students studying electrical engineering and electrical power engineering. Eighteen student teams from universities of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, participated in the Olympiad, which took place remotely via ZOOM.
A team of 4th-year students of the Faculty of Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering – Timur Nurmukhametov, Roman Lebedev, Dmitry Kartashov, and Anton Druzhinin – represented ETU “LETI” at the competition. Alexander Kondakov, Assistant of the Department of Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, supervised the team.
“I participated in this Olympiad last year, but I decided to participate again because I really wanted to win. This year, I took second place in the individual competition. Participation in the Olympiad allowed me to apply my knowledge and gave me a few certificates, which can become an advantage in employment.”

The ETU “LETI” team solved problems the best, winning in the team competition, in the International Olympiad, and the Russian Olympiad. Students also succeeded in individual competition: Timur Nurmukhametov took first place, Roman Lebedev and Dmitry Kartashov took second place.
“The success of our students is hard work. They had to solve unorthodox problems, and at the Olympiad, you can’t use books. Unfortunately, one of the students got sick before the Olympiad, and there were only three of us left. We participated without substitutes, but that did not stop us from performing successfully. Students managed to use all knowledge gained during their studies at the department! It will come in handy for them to master their profession.”

For the second year in a row, ETU “LETI” students have won individual and team competitions in Olympiads in Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering. This subject is necessary for further study in such courses as radio circuits and signals, electronics, the theory of automatic control, and metrology
