EuroSchool Thane Celebrates a Unique Fusion of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with Air Force Officers

Thane : In a touching display of patriotism and cultural unity, EuroSchool Thane organised a special event on August 16, 2024, that seamlessly blended the spirit of India’s Independence Day with the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The students of EuroSchool Thane tied handmade rakhis on the wrists of Indian Air Force officers, symbolising a bond of protection and the deep mutual respect between civilians and the armed forces.

The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished Indian Air Force officers, including Flight Lieutenant Naseer Ahmad Tantry, Sergeant Sanjeet Kumar, and Sergeant Chandra Prakash, who were warmly welcomed by the entire school community with great enthusiasm and respect.

Flight Lieutenant Naseer, hailing from Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, was deeply touched after the event. He shared that it was the first time he had ever received a rakhi, and he planned to frame it once he returned home. He emphasised that this experience had further inspired him in his duty as a defender and protector of the nation’s citizens.

The celebration began with a vibrant cultural program, where the students showcased their talents through a series of captivating dance and music performances. Each act, infused with patriotic fervour, resonated deeply with the day’s theme, reflecting the students’ dedication and enthusiasm. These performances not only enthralled the audience but also left a lasting impression on the esteemed guests, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

A key moment of the event was an interactive session between the students and the Air Force officers. The students, eager to gain insights into the lives and duties of defence personnel, asked a variety of questions that reflected their admiration and curiosity for the armed forces. The officers shared insightful answers, drawing from their own experiences to emphasise the values of discipline, focus, and dedication that guide their service to the nation. Flight Lieutenant Naseer Ahmad Tantry also highlighted the critical role of education in shaping responsible citizens who are conscious of their duties towards the country.
