Events held to mark the Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebration
ALIGARH : As part of the celebrations on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the Abdullah School, Aligarh Muslim University organized an inter-school Qirat and Naat Khwani Competitions.
In the Qirat competition, Hamza Kaleem (STS School) got the first prize, while Safiya Saleem (AMU City Girls School) and Afifa Zeb (Abdullah School) received the second and third prizes respectively. Md. Sufiyan (RMPS AMU City School) and Umaima Maryam (AMU Girls School) received the consolation prize.
Zunaira Rashid (AMU Girls School) and Aleena Mudassir (AMU City Girls High School) were selected for the first and second prizes, respectively, while Mohd Zubair of RMPS AMU City School and Labibah Fatima of Abdullah School shared the third prize. Kazim Khan of AMU ABK School (Boys) and Zainab Abid of AMU ABK School (Girls) received the consolation prize.
Prof. Shaista Afroz, Deputy Director, Directorate of School Education and the School Superintendent, Mrs. Umra Zaheer, along with Ms Aliya Tasneem Siddiqui and Hafiz Asim Akhlaq appreciated the efforts of the participants and urged them to keep participating in such programme even if they do not get any prize, as merely their participation will help them learn many things that cannot be learnt anywhere else.
The Cultural Coordinator, Ms Lubna Imtiaz and Mr Mohd. Merajuddin conducted the programme.
