New Delhi: The three-day-long grand Academic Summit organized by Media & Entertainment Skills Council “Virtual Manthan: The Impeccable Academia” came to its end Today, where stalwarts of the education industry shared the stage and shed light on the “Importance of Integrating Skill Oriented & Apprenticeship Embedded Media & Entertainment Programs in Higher Education.” The event witnessed more than 20 eminent speakers across India accentuating the significance of skill-based education in higher education.
“One must possess creative skills to identify the extraordinary in the ordinary; underlining the quality of being an all-rounder” Mr Subhash Ghai – Indian Filmmaker and Educationist, Chairman of MESC during the keynote address at the Virtual Manthan by the Media and Entertainment Skills Council. Mr Ghai accentuated on the development of communication skills in students for their brighter future. “As per the current scenario every technician has to be an artist and vice versa thus every student has to develop a sense of intellect to understand things beyond the obvious,” he added.
Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar – Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore shared his views on importance of Integrating Skill Oriented & Apprenticeship Embedded Media & Entertainment Programs in Higher Education. He said that creativity should be harnessed to create wealth. Prof. Dev Vrat Singh – Dean & Head, Dept. of Mass Communication, Central University of Jharkhand highlighted the need for creating big institutions in small cities to get participation from every corner of the country. He continued that this will not only help to create good content but will also help to break the monotony.
Prof. Harish Kumar – Professor in CSE, Honorary Director, Center for Skill Development& Entrepreneurship, Punjab University shared a PowerPoint presentation stating the importance of Integrating Skill Oriented & Apprenticeship Embedded Media & Entertainment Programs in Higher Education with the possible solutions.
Dr. Dharmendra Singh- Head Department of Mass Communication and New Media, Central University of Jammu said that human development is as important as student development. He added, “I think that all the universities should unite themselves for the welfare of the country better because we are the creators of society.” Culminating the session, Mr. Mohit Soni CEO of Media and entertainment skills council expressed his gratitude to all the esteemed speakers for making Virtual Manthan: The Impeccable Academia 2020 a success and said that Media & Entertainment Skills Council will continue to work hard to create as much as it can to make Skill India a success.
