Expedition of students across Karelia

From 4 to 6 November, a youth creative expedition “Little Karelia” to the Voknavolok settlement of the Kostomuksha urban district took place, in which students of PetrSU took part.
The main goal of the expedition is to involve young people in the processes of popularizing and preserving the Karelian culture, traditions and customs of the Karelian people through youth creativity and the creation of unique creative works.

For three days, the members of the expedition worked in the village of Voknavolok on Lake Verkhneye Kuito: they visited the ethnocultural center “Village House”, the Ontsi House and other old northern houses, and also created their own unique creative products on the Karelian theme: photographs, handicrafts, paintings.

The works will be presented at the virtual creative exhibition “Little Karelia”, which will open in December this year. Also at the exhibition will be exhibited the works of the participants of the regional competition of creative works on the Karelian theme.

The project is being implemented by the Endowment Fund of PetrSU, the Karelian regional public organization “Club of Youth Projects and Initiatives” with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
