Faber Castell’s All India Calendar Art Competition 2017 gains momentum

Mumbai: Faber-Castell, world’s largest and oldest manufacturers of art material has been engaging school children across India with their All India Calendar Art Competition. The 5th Edition of this pan-India competition is now heading for a grand finale. Faber-Castell All India Calendar Art Competition aims to provide children with the most suitable platform to explore their creativity and infinite imagination.

Since its inception the competition has been a huge success with children from hundreds of schools across the country. The competition is open to children from Class 1 through Class 10 which is then divided into four age groups. For Classes 1 to 4, the theme for the 2017 Competition is ‘A day on the beach’, while the topic for Classes 5 to 10 the theme is ‘India of my dreams’.

The national competition is initiated at the school level and then progresses to the regional and national levels. To qualify for the regional and national levels all entries need to be accompanied with entry coupons which can be found inside the packs of the colouring range of Faber Castell products for e.g. the connector sketch pens and the colour pencils.

An estimated 2 million entries are received from 22 cities for this national annual event. The best three entries from each group of the estimated 1500 participating schools will be awarded certificates and gift hampers. These winning entries are selected through a regional jury of artists to have selection of 48 regional winners who move onward to the national level. A special jury of artists then select the 12 National level winning artworks. These 12 art pieces will be featured for each month in the exclusive Faber-Castell 2018 Calendar.

Each of the 12 National Winners for this year will be introduced to the world through the Faber-Castell digital space through live interview whilst being felicitated with an award in their school along with the Faber-Castell team.

Commenting on the initiative, the marketing spokesperson said, “This year, we have an exciting format for the competition. We know enabling children to tap into their creative potential works best when children are provided with best performing products but also with topics that interest and encourage them to explore deeper into their imagination. At Faber-Castell we believe in nurturing young minds and bring out the acme of creativity.”

The deadline for all the entries is 31st October 2017.
