Faculty members welcome back students to offline classes

Aligarh: Anxiety and excitement gripped students, as faculty members of the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) welcomed students of M.A (English) and M.A (English Language Teaching) back to offline physical classes after two years of closure due to the Covid pandemic.

“We are delighted and overjoyed to welcome the students back to physical classes—where they can build cheerful bonhomie with batch mates and teachers to eradicate the disconnection they faced during the pandemic period”, said Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui (Chairman, Department of English).

He encouraged students to familiarise themselves with the teachers and stressed on ‘peer bonding’.

Prof Asim also urged students to counsel absent class mates for attending offline lectures.

“Physical classes are pertinent to the creation of memories and all students should make best possible use of time and try to learn from each other”, said Prof Samina Khan (Coordinator, Postgraduate Program).

The decision to reopen the university came after a decline in the number of Covid cases across the country.
