Family Counseling Camp organized at village Mirzapur Sia

ALIGARH  : The Department of Home Science, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the AMU Chapter of the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a “Family Counseling Camp” at village Mirzapur Sia, Aligarh.

The camp featured street plays on “Poshan Ka Mahatva” and “Maansik Swasth evam Kalyan” presented by the third and fourth-semester B.Sc. students, emphasizing the value of nutrition, particularly for women and children; and the significance of mental health, and strategies to overcome such problems.

Additionally, a nutritional assessment of preschoolers was done by using different teaching aids and an assessment was made for iron deficiency, sanitation and hygiene.

Prof. Saba Khan, Chairperson of the department, motivated the students to conduct such camps regularly and lauded the efforts of the faculty members including Dr Mariyam Fatima and Dr Iram Aslam, Dr Qurratul Aein Ali, Dr Mohd. Uzair, Dr. Mohd Shakir, and research scholars Nida Khan and Hira Baig, played a key role in organizing the camp.
