ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna organized an one-day farmers participatory development program for tribal farmers of West Champaran district in collaboration with Brajina Foundation, Ramnagar on September 13, 2024. The program was funded by institute tribal sub-plan under Government of India plans. There were more than 100 women tribal farmers from the villages including Naurangia, Bakhri Bazaar, Bagahi and Nautanwa participated in the programme. Under the guidance of Dr Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna, scientists including Dr Kamal Sarma, Dr PC Chandran, Dr Pradeep Kumar Ray, Dr Rohan Kumar Raman and Dr Ved Prakash participated and interacted with the farmers.
The scientists recalled the participatory research works undertaken by ICAR-RCER, Patna in the tribal villages since last three years. Further, the farmers interacted with the scientists to chalk out strategies for sustainable development and enhancing the system output using diversified farming practices. The agricultural critical inputs were provided to the farmers for enhancing the livelihood status.
