FDDI has a bright future in India: Rajeev Singh Thakur, IAS, Addl Secretary – DPIIT
New Delhi – Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) successfully hosted a National Workshop on “Latest Trends and Innovations in Material, Manufacturing, Design, Brand, and Promotion” at its Noida campus. The event brought together industry leaders, academicians, and students to explore the latest advancements in design and manufacturing.
The workshop was a collaborative effort involving Invest India, ECGC, CLRI, DPIIT, CLE, CIFI, IFCOMA, and LSSC, showcasing a united front in promoting innovation and excellence in the industry. Contributions came from various schools within FDDI, including the School of Footwear Design & Production, School of Fashion Design, School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design, and the School of Retail & Fashion Merchandise.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur, IAS, Additional Secretary – DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, who was also the chief guest. Addressing the gathering he talked about the venerable history of FDDI and highlighted its contribution to nation building, skilling youth and in generating employment opportunities. He also highlighted the increase in number of admissions in the current session.
Attendees engaged in comprehensive discussions on the latest trends and innovations in material science, manufacturing processes, design methodologies, brand development, and promotional strategies. Experts shared insights on emerging technologies and market trends, providing valuable knowledge to participants. The workshop included interactive sessions, panel discussions, and live demonstrations, allowing participants to gain practical insights and hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and techniques. Additionally, the event provided an excellent platform for networking, enabling attendees to connect with industry professionals, researchers, and peers, fostering collaborations and partnerships.
