FDP organised by the department of Biotechnology CGC Landran

 

The Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Research Based Teaching and Learning Methodologies in Life Sciences’. The faculty members got an opportunity to engage in intense discussions and training sessions with invited experts on the importance of teaching methodologies, research enhancement and the practical application of new learning tools. The FDP consisted of specialized workshops, interactive discussions, and technical sessions, covering a range of topics including advanced research techniques, importance of AI tools in research based learning processes, and statistical testing, among others. In addition to reinforcing the participants’ understanding of analytical techniques and appropriate statistical methods for research it helped enhance the quality of teaching pedagogy and to reinforce the teaching–learning process. The FDP underlined CGC’s commitment to encouraging continuous learning, innovation, and academic excellence among its faculty.

 

The inaugural session of the FDP was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Atul Sachdev, Senior Director Gastroenterology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, the Guest of Honour, Dr. Balwinder Singh Sooch, Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology & Food Technology, Punjabi University, Patiala. They were welcomed by Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director Principal, CCT and Dr. Palki Sahib Kaur, HoD, Department of Biotechnology, CGC Landran. The five-day FDP was helmed by five distinguished speakers including Dr. Balwinder Singh Sooch Ms. Gurleen Kaur, Psychologist, CGC Landran, Dr. Ruchi Singla, Director, R&D, ACIC RISE Association, CGC Landran, Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Professor, NITTTR, Chandigarh, Dr. Naveen Gupta, Professor, Panjab University Chandigarh, Dr. Seema Garcha, Professor, PAU, Ludhiana and Dr. P.K. Tulsi, Professor (Retd.), NITTTR.
