Field Outreach Bureau hosts Webinar on COVID-19 Vaccination Drive at Poonch
Poonch: Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Rajouri today organised a webinar on COVID-19 Vaccination drive in Poonch.
The webinar focused on the potential acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination among Health Care Workers, front line warriors, people above 60 year age and those between 45 year to 60 year age with co-morbidity.
Giving brief overview of the role of district administration in COVID-19 vaccination process, Rajesh Lakhan, Assistant Commissioner Development, Poonch said that district administration, Poonch has done a commendable job in containing the spread of virus and with the adequate vaccination, the cases of COVID-19 have declined steeply. Through various social media platforms and door to door awareness of COVID appropriate behaviour, people are following SOPs and guidelines.
Chief Medical Officer, Poonch, G. A. Malik, while interacting with participants provided a detailed information and awareness of COVID-19 virus, SOPs to be followed to contain its spread and importance of Covid-19 Vaccination. He said during the 3rd phase of COVID 19 vaccination 88 people above 60 years of age got their first dose and 582 people between 45 to 60 years of age with co-morbidity got vaccinated. In all 396 sessions of Vaccination drives were carried out from 16/1/2021 to 08/3/2021.
Dr. Mushtaq Jafri, Medical Superintendent, Poonch who acted as resource person said that the vaccination drive in the district has been started from 16th of Januray, 2021 While giving he details of vaccination drive in Poonch district Dr. Jafri said that upto 8th of March, 2019, 3466 health care workers were registered for the COVID-vaccination out of which 3078 were vaccinated and 1272 Health Care workers received their 2nd dose of vaccination, Similarly 9863 Front line Warriors were registered out of which 5877 got vaccinated and 330 received their 2nd dose also.
Shahid Ahmed Lone, Field Publicity Officer while welcoming the dignitaries and participants highlighted the importance of COVID-19 Vaccination and precautions to contain the spread of virus. He also said that the department is organising various programme through social Media platform to aware masses about the importance of Vaccination..
Dr. Zulfkar Ahmed, Block Medical Officer, Surankote also interacted with the participants and being first person in he district to receive vaccine shared his experiences of COVID-19 vaccination. He appealed to all that COVID vaccination is safe and everyone should come forward on his turn to get vaccinated.
Khursheed Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur spoke on various aspects and provisions of CIOVID-19 vaccination and also proposed the vote of thanks.
