Film Making Workshop at AMU

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students enhanced their understanding of the requirements and rigors of filmmaking, as well as experienced the exhilaration of seeing a completed project in the five-day ‘Film Making 101 Workshop’ of the University Film Club (UFC) held at the Kennedy Auditorium.

The resource person, Muzamil Hayat Bhawani, Programme Director, Cultural Education Centre-CEC, AMU) trained students in key aspects of film production, such as directing, acting, cinematography, and post-production light and sound work.

He also shared experiences of his student days at the National School of Drama, New Delhi and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London.

Muzamil took the workshop participants through the workflows of production, lighting, sound recording and post-production and taught them techniques used in cinema cameras, intelligent lighting and color grading.

“It was an engaging workshop which involved participants in tasks and exercises such as simple video making on the basis of their favourite music, visualisation of their personal home, as well as on-stage activities to describe the significance of sound and light effects in cinema”, said Syed Mohd Sohaib (Secretary, UFC) and Ahmad Mudassir (UFC).

Sheeza Shoeb (Film Club member) informed that the resource person, Muzamil provided feedback on a variety of creative videos shot by the participants. He also taught students the importance of angles and shot frames to convey various emotions.
