Financial Literacy Programme organized
ALIGARH : The Department of Computer Science, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), organized a Financial Literacy Programme to empower youth with essential knowledge about financial investments and the securities markets.
Dr. Akeelurrehman, a resource person from NISM, underscored the importance of financial literacy in today’s fast-paced world, providing the participants with a deep understanding of investment opportunities, securities markets and mutual funds.
He discussed the key topics, including the importance of investment, opportunities in financial investments, the process and requirements for investing in securities markets, the dynamics of primary and secondary markets, mutual funds, alternative investment funds, safeguards when investing in securities, and career prospects in the financial sector.
He also explained the intricacies of the securities market, demonstrating the growing relevance of financial education among the youth and their active participation in learning the complexities of modern economic systems.
Prof Arman Rasool Faridi, Chairman of the department, said that the programme not only introduces students to various financial investment options but also emphasizes necessary precautions and highlights career opportunities in the financial sector.
The programme coordinator, Dr Nadeem, said the programme seeks to equip students with critical insights into managing personal finances and making informed investment decisions.
