Finnish Language and Culture Week
PetrSU students and teachers took part in the Week of the Finnish language and culture in the Republic of Karelia.
The Week of the Finnish Language and Culture was held in the Republic of Karelia, the active participants of which were students and teachers of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology of PetrSU.
Within the framework of the event, lectures by I.I. Mullonen “Finnish dialects and folk culture”, N. Böök “Wooden construction in Finland, Finnish prefabricated houses in the USSR 1944-1955: modern wooden houses”, T.I. Islamayeva “Illativ”, I.R. Takala “From the history of Finnish Petrozavodsk”, presentation of the book “Folk Songs of Ingermanlandia”, online quiz from the newspaper “Karjalan Sanomat” “Do You Know?”, Interview with Finnish contemporary writer Pauli Tapio, meeting with the Consul of Finland in Petrozavodsk Johannes Puukki, book exhibition “Finland on the bookshelf” in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, excursions around Petrozavodsk in Finnish and Russian.
