First Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023 held in Maharana Pratap, Sports College

 

 

In the Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023, both men and women participated, with a total of 1100 participants.

 

Dehradun, October 22, 2023: The Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023, organized for the first time by the Indian Navy, commenced at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun, at 6 am  in the morning. In this marathon, participants from different age groups (18-35, 36-45, 46-55, and 56-65) competed in three different categories: 21.1 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers (non-timed) for both men and women.

 

National Hydrographic Office (NHO) , a premier establishment of the Indian Navy was established in 1954 at Dehradun. It is presently headed by Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Nao Sena Medal, Chief Hydrographer to the Govt. of India. This Organisation is the hub and National Agency for production of Electronic Navigation Charts and Paper Charts for all Seagoing vessels. The Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day on 04 December every year to commemorate the remarkable victory of India over Pakistan during the 1971 war.

 

Winners of the Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023 in the 21-kilometer run :

 

In the men’s category (18-35 age group), the first place was secured by Udit, followed by Anil Kumar in second place, and Sanjay Singh in third place.

In the women’s category (18-35 age group), Gauri secured the first place, followed by Bhagyashree Savant in second place, and Kavita Rana in third place.

In the men’s category (36-45 age group), Ravindar Singh secured the first place, followed by Mohit Jain in second place, and Rahul Singh Rawat in third place.

In the women’s category (36-45 age group), Shashi Mehta secured the first place, followed by Puja Negi in second place, and Deepti Rawat in third place.

In the men’s category (46-55 age group), Vikram Singh Bisht secured the first place, followed by Sanjeev Sajjan in second place, and Vikas Kumar in third place.

In the women’s category (46-55 age group), Minakshi Joshi secured the first place.

In the men’s category (56-65 age group), Tara Bahadur Thapa secured the first place, followed by Rajesh Wadhwa in second place, and Omprakash Maletha in third place. In the men’s category above 65 years, Gurful Singh emerged as the winner.

 

Winners of the 10-kilometer run in the Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023:

 

In the men’s category (14-35 age group), Rajiv Namburi secured the first place, followed by Ashwani Saini in second place, and Gaurav Chandra Bhatt in third place.

In the women’s category (14-35 age group), Anjali secured the first place, followed by Isha Sharma in second place, and Deepika Pal in third place.

In the men’s category (36-45 age group), Manohar secured the first place, followed by Commander Vipul Manocha in second place, and Gautam Dikshit in third place.

In the women’s category (36-45 age group), Reena Sahi secured the first place, followed by Tintu Ajimon in second place, and Tejender Kaur in third place.

In the men’s category (46-55 age group), Sarat Singh secured the first place, followed by Sunil Handa in second place, and Ramesh Negi in third place.

In the women’s category (46-55 age group), Godavari Rawat secured the first place, followed by Manisha Kandpal in second place, and Binita in third place.

In the men’s category (56-65 age group), Jitender Gupta secured the first place, followed by Vinod Saklani in second place, and Harprasad Gupta in third place. In the women’s category (56-65 age group), Charulata secured first place.

 

The Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023 was organized for the armed forces & paramilitary forces, their families, and civilians. Many dignitaries, their family members, students from military schools, Sainik schools, and numerous schools/institutions/academies in the Dehradun region enthusiastically participated in this event. The objective of the Dehradun Navy Half Marathon – 2023 is not only to ignite the patriotic spirit among participants but also to acknowledge and pay tribute to the valor and sacrifices made by our armed forces.
