FOB hosts Webinar on ‘COVID appropriate behaviour’ at Rajouri

Rajouri: Field Outreach Bureau FOB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, under the supervision of Regional Outreach Bureau Government of India, Jammu, today organised a Webinar on COVID appropriate behaviour and Living with COVID here.

The webinar was presided over by Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K, Neha Jalali.

In her address, the Deputy Director appreciated the steps taken by the district administration and health department during the COVID pandemic. She said that district administration Rajouri and Health department have played a crucial role in containing the spread of Virus. She called upon the public to follow SOPs and guidelines to save self and others from getting infected with Corona Virus. She also thanked the district administration for extending their full cooperation and coordination in conducting the Webinar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh spoke of an overview of overall strategy followed by the district administration in containing the spread of virus. He provided elaborate information about the total infected persons, total active cases, recovered and deaths in Rajouri district. He also said that covid control was an uphill task in district Rajouri sharing its boundaries with Poonch district and Kashmir valley via Shopian. A comprehensive strategy was adopted by the district administration involving Police and trained Doctors to track, trace, isolate the infected persons to overcome the spread of virus. He also appreciated the efforts of the Regional Outreach Bureau for organising such awareness webinars for the betterment of society.

Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, who was a resource person, threw light on the importance of physical distancing, wearing a mask, washing hands, refraining from social gatherings and coming out of home unnecessarily.

Giving details of the coronavirus situation, he said that cases in Rajouri have come down after two spikes and there are a few positive cases in the district.

A TGT in Hindi, Asish Kumar Sharma also spoke on a simple formula that is Prevention is better than cure, various aspects of local medication and meditation and following SOPs for Covid -19. He urged the participants to follow SOPs and guidelines and further disseminate the awareness in their respective areas. Gurnam Singh, I/c FOB, Rajouri did the moderation of the Webinar.

Various departments like district administration, Health, Education and Kanderriya Vidayalaya Rajouri extended their cooperation and coordination in making the webinar successful.
