Food grain slips for state’s 36 lakh 86 thousand beneficiaries to be prepared- Minister Singh

Bhopal : Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Bisahulal Singh said that food grain slips will be prepared for free food grain distribution to 36 lakh 86 thousand labourers of the state from the month of August. These beneficiaries are eligible to get free ration, but they were not able to avail this facility due to non-possession of food slips. Food Minister Shri Singh was holding a discussion on the preparations in a review meeting with the officials at Mantralaya.

Food Minister Shri Singh said that a verification campaign has been launched for all the ration beneficiaries in the state. Food grain will be distributed by issuing food slips to the beneficiaries, who are found eligible in verification and names of those found ineligible will be removed.

Minister Shri Singh has said that the Aadhar numbers of one crore 37 lakh beneficiaries out of the beneficiaries included currently has been seeded in the database. Aadhaar seeding has been done in the data base of about 25 lakh beneficiaries in the past. Aadhaar seeding work will be completed in the data base for the remaining beneficiaries in the months of July and August. Ration will be given to beneficiaries after providing Aadhaar number after August 31.

He said that if a migrant labourer moves to another state then under the Atmanirbhar Abhiyan of Government of India, he will have to give required information to the collector and his/her registration will be done in the districts. After registration, if any labourer migrates for work in any state outside the state, he will be provided ration in the same state.

Principal Secretary Shri Shivshekhar Shukla informed that a total of 25 thousand 119 fair price shops are running in the state, out of which 4 thousand 188 are running in urban areas and 20 thousand 937 in rural areas. As many as 15 thousand 500 shops are being run by primary consumer stores in urban areas and prominently by the District Cooperative Central Bank institutions in rural areas. Apart from this, shops are also being operated by Van Upaj Sansthas, 731 Women Self Help Groups and primary consumer stores in some districts. Principal Secretary Food Shri Shivshekhar Shukla, Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Abhijeet Agarwal and Shri Shriman Shukla and other officials were present on the occasion.
