FORE School of Management holds its Induction Programme for Batch 2022–24

 FORE School of Management (FSM), New Delhi organized its induction programme for the 2022-24 batch of students for its two-year full-time PGDM programmes. Dr Jitendara Das, Director, FSM, along with Vice-Chairman Dr Vinayshil Gautam welcomed the students at the Induction ceremony in the presence of the faculty, staff and some of the distinguished alumni and industry leaders. Mr. Kush Mehra, President and Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Pine Labs Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Sanchita Mukherji, Co-Founder & Partner at Blue Edge Associates LLP, both alumni of FSM, were the guests of honour in this ceremony.

The students admitted from 8000+ applications come from 22 states across India. This makes FORE exceptional in terms of regional diversity.

The induction ceremony for PGDM, PGDM (International Business), PGDM (Financial Management) & PGDM (Big Data Analytics) students began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp. Prof. Sanghamitra Budhhapriya, Dean (Academics), started the proceedings by welcoming the new batch of students.

She said, “It gives me immense pleasure to welcome the new batches of students for 2022 -24. At FORE we strongly believe in diversity. Apart from receiving applications from all over India, the students are also from diverse academic backgrounds. There is also a good representation of women students. We look forward to this diversity driving fruitful interactions in the classroom as well as peer-to-peer learning. FORE is known for its high-quality academic standards. There are more than 60 full-time faculty members bringing in their academic excellence and industry exposure which will add value to the knowledge the students receive. Our pedagogy has been developed in a way to encourage brainstorming and make students industry-ready.”

Dr Jitendara Das, Director then took to the stage for the highly anticipated Welcome Address that offered the students plenty of food for thought.

During his speech, Dr Das asserted that the B School would do everything to ensure that students’ expectations and aspirations were matched. “We will always make sure that you are provided with all that is required for quality learning, but it is up to you to have the zeal to learn and transform yourselves into able beings. It is very important to bring discipline in your life as that will be the guiding factor for your achievements”, he said.

He then took the students through highlights of the curriculum and activity-based learning before reminding them that education should be seen as tapasya, which bears fruit when efforts are put in. “In addition to the courses and extra-curricular activities, FORE also stresses co-curricular activities wherein students are encouraged to attend seminars to hone skills beyond classrooms”, he added.

After the ceremonial orientation oath by the freshers, Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, Vice Chairman, FORE School of Management addressed the gathering. “This is an important day of your lives. From tomorrow, we evolve together in our journey of discovery”,” He further added how the journey of the student and the journey of the Institute complement each other in the longer perspective.

Ms. Sanchita Mukherji, Co-Founder & Partner at Blue Edge Associates LLP and Mr. Kush Mehra, Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Pine Labs Pvt. Ltd shared words of inspiration with the new batches. Ms. Mukherji said, “You can never lose, you either win or learn. Some failure in life is evitable; fear of failure gives me self-realization”. Reminiscing his own experience at FORE, Mr. Mehra mentioned diversity as a key strong point. He said, “The diversity at FORE was itself a source of learning for me. Spend all your time and efforts here productively and work on your dream”

Academic & Gender Diversity

Academic and gender diversity improves peer learning and all the top B-schools are focusing on improving the academic and gender diversity in their classrooms. This year FSM has registered good academic and gender diversity for the PGDM batch as under Gender Diversity 72% Male students & 28% Female and as far Academic Diversity is concerned 25% Engineers and 75% Non-Engineers from various diverse academic backgrounds.

Regional Diversity: – Students come from 22 states across 100 cities and towns. They came from multiple tier 2 and tier 3 cities and towns across the country including the North-Eastern part of India.

The ceremony drew to a close with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. Sanghamitra Buddhapriya.

It was a day of new beginnings made special with thoughtful words, advice and inspiration that will be the perfect start for the journey the freshers will be taking on for the next two years.
