Forest Handicrafts training culminates at Kalakote

 

RAJOURI : A one week chir pine needles handicrafts training camp was successfully completed at Kalakote.

In this training program, 60 women from different villages of Rajouri district participated. During the camp, women were trained to make handicrafts including utility and decoration items using non-timber forest products.

The products were also displayed at “Good governance week” celebrations in which Shri Vikas Kundal DC Rajouri and other department senior officers appreciated the forest department for such innovative livelihood initiatives.

During the occasion, Dr Arshdeep Singh DFO Rajouri stressed the need to promote eco-friendly forest products.

All handicraft items made by trainee women participants were sold out completely keeping in view the theme of “Earn while you learn” model envisaged by the forest department.
