Formula racing car wins second prize

ALIGARH  : ZFR 5.0, the formula racing car developed by the SAE-ZHCET Collegiate Club, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, won second prize in the business plan presentation of the Formula Bharat 2023 competition organized at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore between January 19-24, 2023.

Participating in its first offline Formula Bharat event post-COVID, the team showed tremendous spirit throughout the event and their vehicle ZFR 5.0 won the second prize”, informed Mr. Nafees Ahmad, the faculty advisor of the SAE-ZHCET Collegiate Club.

He said that the team successfully cleared tests such as safety inspection, mechanical inspection, tilt test, weight test, etc., and interacted with foreign design judge Peter Jones about designing the vehicle and got useful insights for further improvements.

Dr. Syed Fahad Anwer, faculty advisor of the club informed that the winning team is focusing on building an electric formula-style race car, ZFR 6.0, for which the design work is in progress. The team is looking forward to upcoming events like SAE Supra 2023, to be held at Buddha International Circuit, Noida. The team is also aiming to participate in international formula-student competitions like FS Austria and FS UK in 2023.

The team members included Tushar Gupta (Captain), Abu Bakr (Vice-Captain), Mohd Adnan (Team manager), Farhan Khan (Treasurer), Hammad Qamar, Arquam Hashim Siddiquie, Arsalan Sartaj, Abdul Samad, Syed Taimoor Ali, Kuber, Arsalan Siddiqui, Fahar Ahmad, HAQ Hamza Ahmad Khan, Imad Asif, Syed Mikayel, Mirza Ahmed Beg, Navneet Kumar, Aas Mohammed, Aqdus Bin Bari, Bilal Khan, Abdullah Saarim Khan, Nirmanyu Goel, Talha Ahmed Zia, Abdul Samad Amir, and Nousheen Shahabi.

Prof. Mohammad Muzammil (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) congratulated the team and wished them luck for future events.
