Free Health Camp in RHTC
Aligarh: The department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology Societies of India (Aligarh Society) conducted a free Health Camp at its Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) situated in Jawan; Aligarh
Prof Saira Mehnaz (Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine) welcomed all the dignitaries and a brief account of the programme.
Prof M U Rabbani (Dean, Faculty of Medicine, JNMCH) hoped that more such future collaborations will occur and Prof Rakesh Bharghav (Principal; CMS, JNMCH) stressed on the importance of work at the community level.
Prof Seema Hakim (President, AOGS) spoke on the long-term consequences of anemia .The Guest of Honor, Mr. Javaid Said, a philanthropist and a social activist, spoke on the high prevalence of anemia
The Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Imran (IPS, Registrar, AMU) spelt out various ways to spread awareness about anemia at the grassroot level and the importance of organizing such camps in the future.
The team of Gynecologists assessed all the women attending the Camp for free and a large number of females were examined and given appropriate treatment.
Investigations were also carried out, free of cost. More than 130 rural females were
benefited from the health camp.
Faculty members engaged with foundation course (visited RHTC/CHC/ Andanwadi Center), Prof Athar Ansari (Community Medicine), Dr Mohd Salman Shah (Deptt Community Medicine), Dr Ali Jafer Abedi (Community Medicine), Dr. Tabassum Nawab (Community Medicine), Dr Nafis Faizi (Community Medicine) also participated in the event.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Uzma Eram, Department of Community Medicine and MIC, RHTC.
