Freie Universitaet Berlin: Dr. Ajla Škrbić Awarded the Georg Forster Research Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
Dr. Škrbić will be working with law professor Dr. Helmut Aust and his team, who focus on questions related to public and international law. Her research project, titled “Strengthening the Rule of Law in Post-Conflict Societies: Comparative Insights from the Post-Yugoslav States,” will investigate national efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia to prosecute conflict-related sexual violence. Her research will compare national efforts in these states in prosecuting conflict-related sexual violence with what international law requires in this respect.
Dr. Ajla Škrbić is an official lecturer in international law for the Civil Service Agency of BiH, an official educator of judges and prosecutors in the Federation of BiH, and an expert representative of the academic community at the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance in BiH. In recognition of her academic achievements, she received the Danubius Young Scientist Award 2017 for BiH and the United Nations International Law Fellowship Program in 2017.
The Georg Forster Research Fellowship is awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to researchers with above-average qualifications from all fields.
