Gandhi Jayanti-related programme held
ALIGARH : The Cultural Club and the Fine Art section of the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University organised a “poster making” and “best out of waste” competitions on the theme, “Reuse, Recycle, Rebuild”, as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.
Appreciating the efforts of the participants, Prof. Masud Anwar Alavi, Principal, Women’s College, said that about 150 students participated in the events and their posters reflected the plight of environmental conditions, ecological imbalance and the alarmingly deteriorating state of health and living conditions. Some of the posters highlighted the possible ways to stop further damage to the environment and inspire to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle.
The fifth and seventh-semester students of Fine Arts created art installations exploring the possibilities of transforming discarded objects into art pieces.
He emphasized the significance of such programmes in creating awareness about reusing and recycling discarded objects and developing critical thinking about waste management.
