Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar organises Blood donation camp

 

SRINAGAR : In its unwavering commitment to serve the community, the NSS wing of Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine and Immuno-haematology Government Medical College Srinagar organized a Blood Donation Camp, here.

The camp witnessed active participation from students and employees who volunteered to donate blood for this noble cause. In all 31 students and 3 staff members of the College donated their blood for this noble cause.

Through this blood donation camp, Gandhi Memorial College aims to raise awareness for the need of safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof (Dr) Asmat said that It gives us immense contentment to be able to contribute towards our community by way of donating blood for the needy patients. A shortage of this valuable resource has a major impact on victims of road traffic accidents and trauma victims, women with complicated pregnancies, children suffering from thalassemia, and people undergoing major surgeries.

She on the occasion thanked all the volunteers and officials from GMC, Srinagar for joining hands with Gandhi Memorial College in this earnest need
