Gannon University Announces Of Honouring Five Distinguished Alumni

The Gannon University Alumni Association is proud to recognize five Distinguished Alumni honorees for 2023. The Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize alumni for their achievements, contributions to their profession, service to their community and loyalty to Gannon University.

The 2023 Distinguished Alumni recipients include:

As part of the Distinguished Alumni honors, a special award is presented in memory of Monsignor Wilfred J. Nash to recognize alumni and friends of the university who uphold the ideals of faith and service in their life and work. The 2023 Monsignor Wilfred J. Nash Award recipient is:

The Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented by the Gannon University Alumni Board, the governing body of the Alumni Association. It is the highest honor an alumnus can receive.

“We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our 2023 Distinguished Alumni honorees who have gone above and beyond to contribute to their professions, serve their communities and give back to their alma mater in so many ways,” said Nancy Bird, vice president for university advancement. “Each honoree showcases the possibilities of a Gannon degree, and we are excited to share their stories with the greater Gannon family.”

These Gannon University graduates will be recognized during Gannon’s 2023 Homecoming and Family Weekend Sept. 21-24, with a special dinner on Sept. 23. The weekend will also include the Inaugural Celebration on Friday, Sept. 22, to formally install Walter Iwanenko, Ph.D., as the eighth President of Gannon University.
