Gannon University: Doctor Faustus takes Gannon Schuster Theatre stage

Doctor Faustus takes the Schuster Theatre stage beginning September 29, through October 8, written by Don Nigro and directed by Gannon alum Molly Cooke ’19.
“In this long one act, Doctor Faustus is bored with life so as a joke – he conjures up the devil. He is shocked when his own personal devil, Mephistopheles, actually appears. She is a young, beautiful, elusive, reserved and melancholy. As they bargain for his soul, Faustus becomes obsessed with her. Their oddly compelling love story forms an unusual and haunting version of the Faust legend.” (Concord Theatricals) This cast features:

Ben Cinnamond (Dr. Faustus) is a global exchange student from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland and is in his third year of studying drama and English. His past acting experience includes working in student productions of Ursula Rani Sarma’s, Blue, Lady Gregory’s Rising of the Moon and Harold Pinter’s A Slight Ache. Ben hopes to continue acting, pursue playwriting and directing, and to open a theatre company back in Ireland and major in theatre studies.

Elizabeth Kellogg (Mephistopheles) is in her first year at Gannon University, majoring in mortuary science. This will be her first show at the Schuster Theatre. Originally from Kentucky, Elizabeth’s previous roles consisted of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, And Then There Were None, and various background dancing. Along with acting, Elizabeth also enjoys singing and dancing; she plans to pursue acting throughout her career.

Anthony Nunez (Wagner) is a sophomore theater and communication arts major. He has been acting for the past five years and is happy to participate in his fourth Schuster Theatre show. He works at Gannon as a Transition Guide and a writing consultant in the Writing and Research Center. He is excited to be back on the Schuster stage performing a great show.

Noémie Vandenborre (Helen of Troy) comes to us from France. She is a Fulbright Scholar and will be teaching French at Gannon for the fall and spring semesters. In France, she is in the first year of her master’s degree and would like to become a teacher and a researcher. This is Noémie’s first “real” theatre experience, but she was in a high-school play based on the story of the Red Riding Hood, where she proudly played the woodcutter.
